Jim Newman made his Cursillo in the Diocese of Minnesota, and shortly after came to the Virginia Theological Seminary. He grouped with two men in Annandale and asked God to send Cursillistas to the Northern Virginia area. God did, and in April 1976 the first mens'weekend was held at the Linton Hall Retreat Center in Bristow, Virginia. The Episcopal Cursillo of Virginia helpedother Episcopal Cursillo movements get established in Washington DC, Southern Maryland,West Virginia and Baltimore.
